Day 2: 22/03/10

Today was the 2nd day of my work experience at the Dive Centre. I reached the Dive Centre early in the morning as I was looking forward to it. Just like yesterday, the students from GEMS World Academy got split into 2 groups. One group went to Emirates Academy for the presentations and the other group were at the pool, on their next stage of learning to scuba dive.

First, we interviewed 3 people from the pool side about their experiences from yesterday. We all received positive comments and they were all looking forward to their next diving lesson. Then, the first group took the bus to Emirates Academy to get started with the presentations. We watched 2 presentations: - The 1st one was about eco-engineering ( artificial coral-reefs)

- The 2nd one was about EMEG (Emirates Marine Environmental Group)

1. We had a presentation about eco-engineering artificial reefs in the sea.
2. We had a presentation about marine life ( fish, coral reefs, transportation of coral reefs)
3. We had a go at designing our own artificial coral reefs ( the best 2 were modeled with clay -> PICTURES!!!)
4. We then visited the area where the modeled artificial coral reefs would be built.

I am looking forward to going to the turtle sanctuary tomorrow!!!
