On Sunday 2nd of October, the first explorer apprentices came together in The Pavilion Dive Centre to get started with their training.
Despite a smaller group than planned, we all had a lot of fun, and got excited as the tension was building on through the discussions and the briefings.
Dale Will and I were guiding these news adventurers through their first fin kicks and that reminded me of why I love teaching the new generation. They are so enthusiastic about learning something so different that we could see their eyes sparkling behind their masks. Moments like these ones ore really a blessing that I never found in any other activity.
So, our explorers are now able to recover a regulator if they were to drop it, to remove water from their mask if they were to smile too much and they can even deal with the unlikely situation of running out of air. They have a new language they can use that only belongs to them and their new extended family of explorers, and they are breathing underwater!
I can't wait till next week's session!
Photos to come.

I had the opportunity to assist on Sunday with eight of them. It was great fun. Big round of applause to Callum for overcoming his difficulties and special thanks to Lucas for buddying up with him.
Looking forward to seeing these up and coming divers grow from spring chicken to shitehawk during their OW course.
Rock on lads!
